It will be as if you just reinstalled the game, so no game saves or cc. This will create a new Mods folder and Resource.cfg file. Load the game to create a new Sims 4 folder. To install, download and extract the new Resource.cfg and the Overrides folder into your main Mods folder, which will overwrite the current Resource.cfg (so as usual make a backup in case you need it). ago I found this on EA's site: Try a Sims 4 factory reset - Move the Sims 4 folder out of the Electronic Arts folder to the desktop. You can read his description down below on the Overrides folder. Thanks to Coolspear (now retired) for releasing this to the public as it's not really common knowledge in Sims 4 (was in previous games though). The downloads included there are the same here. This tutorial also goes more into-depth on conflicts than this post will, so is a recommended read. That leaves two choices: you can either ask the creators to create a compatibility patch, or you can do it yourself, which you can read a tutorial on how to here. However, sometimes you like both changes that a mod does and just moving one of the files to the Overrides folder isn't enough. Tuning mods pretty much work the same way, you just drop the file your prefer into your Overrides folder. (Note: For the tutorial, some people have reported that they also need to do U2 to stop fading, so to be safe just do both U2 and U3. Remember, if the override you are using is something simple like recolors, you do not need to do Option 2. This way you can use No Fade and also keep your object replacements. package inside the Overrides folder and leave No Fade On Everything in your regular mod folder. Follow this tutorial on making objects stop fading and then place your (no longer fading) object replacement. Now, if you are replacing an object with a new mesh, you will need to do something different because the mesh has been replaced and my No Fade will revert it partly back to the original. won't be effected, just anything using the Model files like I do. With this folder you can add my No Fade On Everything inside of it and if an object override accidentally includes the Model files, the game will now use mine instead of theirs. This means when the game loads the ones in Override will definitely show up, while any conflicting mods outside that folder will be ignored. So for those who are unfamiliar with Override folders, they basically tell the game that anything inside these folders take absolute priority over other mods you have in the main Mods folder, or any subfolder. This is written with object overrides in mind though, but I'll also link a tutorial on regular mods in case you want both features of a mod, etc. ![]() So instead I will just explain this quick and easy compatibility method because it can also be used for other conflicting mods. Ive been trying to download some Mods, but I dont have a resource.cfg in my Mods folder. Sorry this post took a while! At first I was going to write a tutorial explaining how to take apart other object override mods but then I remembered Override folders due to the Ghosts Stay White compatibility issues with Meaningful Stories.
